portland thrift + vintage shop guide

It's true what they say: Portland is a vintage lover's mecca. I frequently bounce between estate sales, thrift shops, and antique/vintage stores when I'm out sourcing for goods. This list will cover the latter two.

  • Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette
    1943 SE 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97214

A massive Goodwill with everything from home decor, furniture, clothing, books, and their boutique section. The prices are higher than other Goodwills in the area, but on a lucky day you can really score big here.

Stars & Splendid spans two buildings across SE Milwaukie Ave., so make sure you visit both and give yourself plenty of time! The store includes vendors selling from multiple eras including true antiques to midcentury to contemporary and everything in between.

  • Urbanite
1005 SE Grand Ave, Portland, OR 97214

Urbanite is a store specializing in curated vintage furniture, home goods, textiles, and clothing, plus newer items from local small businesses that make great gifts. Designers frequently shop here for one-of-a-kind pieces for projects, which speaks to the caliber of what this stores typically carries.

Hoppe Shoppe is a one-of-a-kind home goods store that specializes in modern, handmade, and vintage items. Shop owner Alyssa and her team work so hard to create such a lovely atmosphere in the store. I love coming here for beautiful gifts for friends and pick-me-ups for my own home. Though they do carry newer items, Alyssa's vintage finds are some of the best I've ever seen! I constantly leave inspired whenever I shop here.

Another beautifully curated antique mall in Portland that includes a garden section in the back. They carry beautiful vintage furniture and home decor, and have an in-house café if you find yourself famished from all the vintage shopping you've been doing.

Hippo Hardware specializes in salvaging architectural goods, including antique and reproduction lighting, plumbing, architecture, and hardware. If you own an old home, chances are they carry that weirdly specific piece of whatever you're looking for. If you need something unique for your home project, this is definitely the place to shop.
